He both reads and improvises well and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of music theory, songwriting, composing, arranging, and reading lead sheets of which he has a huge collection in all genres of music, all of which is available for his students.

Testimonials
Will is a wonderful, highly skilled teacher who knows how to work effectively with students of all ages & abilities. I first began lessons with him on guitar, having not played piano or read music for more than 40 years. Will helped me attain a level of proficiency I never thought possible on the guitar, and I gained so much confidence! Eventually I decided to take up the piano again, and progressed quickly to much more challenging music thanks to Will’s patient guidance. He is incredibly knowledgable about all styles of music. As important to me is Will’s focus on technique to try and bring out the musicality whatever the piece. I can’t recommend Will highly enough, and have learned so much from him.
Holly - Guitar and Piano
Will is a remarkably adept teacher. I came to him as a raw 62 year old beginner on piano and he has steadily, patiently opened the door to the world of music. He has a method that works, developed and refined over 40-plus years of teaching. His commitment to building a strong foundation of theory, coupled with an insistence on playing properly gives me the courage to continue the journey. He’s also fun to hang out with. I would recommend Will to any student of music at any level.
James Reynolds -Piano
I began taking piano lessons with Will Goldstein at age 7 and continued through my teens. He is a flexible and patient instructor and always challenged me to learn and perform works from Beethoven to Debussy. Over the ten years I studied with Will, I acquired from him a foundation for musical knowledge which has immensely helped me pursue a jazz studies degree at the SRJC. I wish to continue studying music at a higher level of education after graduation.
